Johan turns 4!

We had a great weekend celebrating Johan's 4th birthday! We headed to the Minnesota State Fair today on Johan's special day. He had fun going on rides, seeing animals and eating treats. The rest of the day was spent watching the Twins game and opening a few presents from family. Johan is starting preschool tomorrow, so it was a great way to end the summer. Happy Birthday, Johan Jeff!

I heart faces - week 35: Photojournalism

Mrs. A is our favorite teacher in the world. I had the opportunity to take pictures of her playing croquet with her adorable family. I think these pictures convey that they are a very fun-loving and close family. Enjoy!

The Lindquist Grandchildren

My parents have been blessed with 6 grandchildren. The ages are almost correct here...Johan turns 4 in 2 days. Gus is still a few weeks away from turning six years old. We were all together to celebrate Johan's birthday a few days early! Love these kiddos!

Chris and Hanna

My friend Chris got married in Sweden this past July to a wonderful woman named Hanna. This past weekend, I headed up to Covenant Pines Bible Camp to celebrate their marriage. Covenant Pines is a special place for so many folks, but especially Chris and his brother Mark because they grew up living at camp with their parents who were the camp directors. Chris and I worked there together for several summers and there are many fun memories from those times. It was such a blessing to me to see Chris so happy and in love! I enjoyed getting to know Hanna better and I look forward to spending more time with her in the future. My sister Sarah and I were able to spend a bit of time taking pictures of them on their reception day! You can find more pictures of them on my photography blog.

i heart faces - week 34: Beach Fun!

We have spent a bit of time this summer at Gramma and Grampa's place, which is on a lake. My husband grew up there and he and his brother lived on the beach each summer. They played "Claytons," which basically was creatively playing with the clay that can be found when you dig way down deep under the sand. This photo is Johan celebrating the clay that he found! My kids can spend hours at the beach and their dad is great about getting them excited about "Claytons." It seemed like a good idea to participate in this week's challenge since I'm back to work tomorrow and we are ending a great summer with many fun memories at the beach!

Almost off to Kindergarten!

Aren't these cousins sweet? We celebrated Addy's 5th birthday with her last week. Both Gus and Addy are getting ready to head off to Kindergarten on September 1st! It's coming up quickly! We are very blessed that these cousins are such good friends.

i heart faces - week 33: gotta wear shades

The theme for this week at i heart faces is "Shades." My husband arrived home from his 5-day weekend with the guys and scored big by bringing lovely flowers! (I'm totally embarrassing him by posting here!) Boy, it is nice to have this guy home!

Little Lake

As a child, I would go fishing with my grandparents over at Little Sugar Lake, a lake that is connected to Sugar Lake through a small channel. The channel is shallow and complete with lily pads and a quaint bridge. It is always nostalgic for me to pass through this area and it was so special to do it with my parents and kids. Here are a few pictures from the adventure. We got to go back the following day to bring the boys fishing. More later...

A great summer of t-ball

The boys had their last t-ball games this week. We had a fun summer of watching the boys enjoy t-ball. They both love playing and have a great time with friends. They also spend a lot of time playing catch and practice hitting in the backyard. They were on different teams, but both of them were red this year.
