Cousins!
Anja's cousin Brendan is just 6 weeks older than her. It is so fun to watch the two of them start to play a bit more together. I'm sure that trend will continue as they both continue to grow. Grandpa Jeff sure knows how to get these kids laughing!

Our Choir at the Covenant Annual Meeting
Our church choir was given the honor of singing the prelude music at a service for the Annual Meeting, which was held in Minneapolis this year. I joined the choir for the tail end of the year to sing with them for this event. It was great how many people in our church joined voices for this event, including many of our youth. I'm in the very top left hand corner. It is a long video, but we were the first part of the program, so it is easy to find!

NPC Bike Trip 2010!
I headed to Lanesboro with my college friends to hang out and do some biking. We rented a very nice house with a great porch. I really enjoyed spending time with my friends - we laughed a lot and enjoyed a lot of biking! The group photo with bikes is courtesy of my friend, Angie.

i hearts faces - week 24: all about babies
I was able to babysit this sweet baby a few weeks ago. She is the daughter of my friend, Maren, who is a former student. I taught Maren Geometry when she was in 9th grade and now it is fun to watch her be a mom to this cutie! She's the best and I'm so blessed to have her as a friend. Love the little sleepy grin here. :)

Check out other adorable baby entries at www.iheartfaces.com! I'm sure there will be many adorable ones this week.

A no-email kind of a day
I didn't get a single work email today and it felt great. These last few months have been especially busy with work and end of the school year activities. Today, I woke up with no plans and the day just happened. I drank coffee and played cards with Kip at the breakfast table, took the kids to the Children's Museum in the morning, ate our summer favorite of BLT sandwiches for lunch, sorted through kids clothes this afternoon, had my parents over for dinner, put the kids to bed, and dozed on the couch from 7:30-8pm before watching a movie. I love summer and all of the non-work related activities it brings. Ahhh....thankful for summer right at this moment.

i heart faces - week 23: Play!
The theme this week at i heart faces is play. What better than a tire swing to be outdoors and have some fun. This picture is of my second cousin once removed. My grandpa and his brother bought cabins next door to each other, so we get to enjoy having lots of extended family around when we are at the cabin. The kids love having their cousins around to PLAY!

i heart faces photo walk
Isn't my sister darling? Today, we both headed out to Chaska to participate in the first ever "i heart faces photo walk." It was led by a Twin Cities photographers, Molly Durkin and Bill Hickey, who shared some fun tips. We even had a model to take pictures of for part of the morning. He was a very good sport. For the other part of the morning, we were the models! It was a fun way to learn more about photography. And, thanks to my good friend, JR, for letting me use her lenses for the day!

Weekend at the Cabin
We had a wonderful weekend in Grand Rapids. We were able to spend time with my parents and my sister's family. The cousins had a very fun time together - their ages are 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 and zero (11 months) at least for a few more days until my nephew turns one. Then, the birthday season begins and by September 18, they will all have moved on to the next age.
The kids loved swimming, playing baseball and soccer, and eating pudding pops! The kids always also enjoy spending time with MorMor and Papa. It was nice to get away and think about how much we'll get to be up north this summer. How many more days of school?? :)
