Bear vs. Vikings

The boys are enjoying playing "Bears" vs. "Vikings."  The game does sometimes end in tears, but it also does keep them entertained for quite some time as they burn off some energy.  Gus is pretty excited that the Bears jersey was on the clearance rack at Target!  He was very willing to pass the Vikes jersey on to Johan, who gladly wore it.

Twins Fest 2010

We headed to Twins Fest yesterday and had a fun time walking around the Metrodome, seeing some familiar/MN famous faces, and batting with Bethel baseball players.

Here's a collage of the family:

i heart faces - week 4: texture

The theme for this week was texture - it could be natural texture or one added with Photoshop.  I have NEVER used added textures in my photos (until now), so this challenge provided a great opportunity for me to learn something new.  I am using Photoshop CS4 and I learned through the i heart faces texture tutorial and the Coffeeshop tutorial.  I used a picture of my little girl that I took way before I owned Photoshop.

Pond Hockey

We headed over to Lake Nokomis to watch a little pond hockey.  Well, we arrived a bit too late (4pm).  The games were ending, so we didn't get to see any real games.  The boys still enjoyed watching the few pick-up games and kids games that were going on.  Now, we really need to get the boys out on skates.  Anja had fun walking around the "warming tent."  As usual, she loved smiling at strangers and walking around.  We headed to Fat Lorenzo's for some good pizza since the Pond Hockey didn't work out too well!

More sledding

We headed over to sled with some friends yesterday afternoon in their backyard.  I took this picture of Sam in his cute colored hat.

His mom, Tami, shared with me some great Photoshop tips later that day.  (Notice the rounded corners!)  I have a lot to learn with Photoshop, so I am grateful for any help I can get!  Thanks, Tami!

i heart faces - week 3: we are family

I am entering a photo of my brother-in-law and his sweet family.  I like that they are all focused on each other and really seem to be calmly enjoying the company of one another.

Gus at Frankie's 5th birthday party

Gus went to a birthday party at the Eagle's Nest in New Brighton today.  His friend Frankie from Bethlehem preschool turned 5 today.  Many of Gus' buddies from preschool were also there, so he had a great time playing with them and running around the indoor park.  The theme of the party was Transformers!

Congrats to Dr. Jerry

My uncle, Dr. Jerry Erickson, has been my dentist for the past 36 years!  (Yes, he's been my dentist for my entire life.)  He is retiring in two weeks, so we have all been to the dentist in the last month to have one final appointment with Jerry.

I am so thankful for all of the care he has given me and also my family.  We love you, Dr. J!  Congratulations on your retirement.

i heart faces - week 2: Happy 1st Birthday

I am entering a photo of my daughter for this week's challenge. I took this photo several days ago when I realized I didn't have a face photo that I was super excited about.  I live in the cold state of Minnesota, so we have had weeks of low temperatures and short days. So, my latest challenge has been to take better indoor photos. I have also been trying to use the manual setting a bit more.

My sister knit this rainbow hat for Anja's Christmas gift. I love it! I've always loved stripes!
