Our Tree

Seriously, I have the goofiest boys around!  We had fun heading to the Richfield Farmers Market to get our Christmas tree.  We had fun searching for the perfect tree and we got a great deal on a super tall tree.  Anja had fun toddling around and the boys got to enjoy candy canes after we bought the tree. 

Getting the Tree with Kraseans

We picked out the Christmas Tree for Gramma and Grampa Krasean's house on the day after Thanksgiving.  We started by checking out and feeding the animals.  Uncle Brendan impressed us all by catching a chicken.  Then, we split into two teams:  team tree and team kids.  Our family joined team kids and explored the grounds of the tree farm.  We climbed the pirate ship, went through a hay bale maze and hiked around.  We headed back to the homefront and spent the day decorating the tree and playing with cousins.

i heart faces - week 47: we heart tooshies

I took this picture on one of the last warm days in Minneapolis this fall.  I thought it would be fun to document my little gal in her red Fuzzi Bunz cloth diaper.  The boots are also special because they were worn by my sister when she lived in England as a one year old girl (I wasn't around yet!).  I thought the drab city alley would be a place where the red would really stand out.  I'm sure my neighbors think I'm crazy taking pictures of my kid in a diaper and boots in the alley.  Oh well!  Anything for i heart faces, right everyone??!!  :)

Thanksgiving

We had a great time celebrating Thankgiving in Forest Lake.  Gus and Johan had a great time playing football with Uncle Brendan, Ellie and Kip.  After a great meal, we all headed to the park to spend some time outside.  It was a cold day, barely above freezing, but we had a fun time being together.  We have so much to be thankful for this holiday season.

i heart faces - week 46: Sun Flare

I took photos of this sweet girl last summer for her first birthday. I pulled it out this picture and tried to do a little work with it to get a sun flare! I'm happy with how it turned out, but I still have a lot to learn about editing photos! I look forward to seeing all of the photos with flare this week!

Woo hoo! Free Tickets

 

I entered a contest on the StarTribune website to win tickets to opening night of Grease at the Orpheum.  I WON!  I love musicals, so I am super excited to see this one.  Yay! 

The Janzen Family

I took some pictures of  my friends the other  day.  It was an adventure trying to get all of the kiddos to look and smile all at the same time, but we managed to squeak out a few great photos.  We have Ivy and Ruby over at our house on Wednesdays and Anja plays with the girls on Thursdays.  We are thankful for these wonderful friends!

Don't Cry! It's just a new look!

Hello to all of my favorite blog readers!! As you probably notice right away, our blog has a new look! It is a WORK IN PROGRESS. I still have a lot of work to do, but the main goal was to be able to have my pictures be larger than I was able to do in the previous format. As you can see, I am having some trouble with the getting the pictures bigger without them being blurry.

I am hoping to have a different photo header in the near future and also post some links as I had on our former layout. Keep checking back -- it might look different the next time you take a look!

i heart faces - week 45: Autumn Beauty

It is Autumn Beauty week at i heart faces. I spent a weekend in November up at the cabin with Anja and my dad. We had a great time being together and enjoying the fall colors. The driveway at my parent's cabin is always beautiful this time of year.

Saturday at the PARKS!

We wanted to spend as much time outdoors as possible this past Saturday. It was sunny and 60 degrees and we know there won't be many more warm days in the near future. We went to Linden Hills park and the Great Harvest bread store in the morning with the Swansons. In the afternoon, we met up with Ramgrens for fun at Hiawatha park. It was fun to be outside and play together.

Happy Birthday to Kip

I went to a math conference today and learned more about Podcasting. To practice, the boys and I made a birthday podcast for Kip. He won't hear it for a few days since he's hunting in no man's land and has no phone, electricity, running water, etc. You get the idea. Happy Birthday to Kip on Saturday, November 7!

4 Stitches!

Johan tripped in the kitchen and cut his head. There was not a lot of blood, but the cut was deep, so we consulted with our friend and E.R. specialist, Dr. Hokanson, and he recommended taking Johan to the E.R. It turned out that Johan did need stitches (4 of them to be exact). He and Kip spend several hours waiting in the E.R. at Children's Hospital. Johan was a trooper and only cried a little while he got the stitches. The stitches will come out in five days.

Halloween

We had a great day today for Halloween. We went to a party at Ramgren's house and had a fun time. The lunch had a Halloween theme - hot dog mummies, salty bones and monster fingers were a few of the menu options. I didn't get a good group picture there, but I did try. We had a good time trick or treating at Mor Mor and Papa's house. Then, we headed back to the neighborhood to trick or treat with Charlie, Sam and Ben. The kids did a great job and had a lot of fun!
