Roasting Party

We now have a fire pit in our backyard, so it was time to do some roasting! My family came over and we roasted hot dogs and marshmallows for s'mores. The cousins enjoyed playing together and eating the s'mores. My sister is about to have her 3rd baby (due June 1), so we are all excited about having a new little one in the family.

Memorial Day Weekend

We had a great time at the cabin for Memorial Day weekend. The boys spent almost all of their time outside, either on the beach or playing baseball. They also spent a bunch of time with their cousins (their grandmas are cousins), Michaela and Mackenzie. On Monday morning, Johan declared "I want to play baseball with the girls. I love them." It was very sweet. It will be nice for the kids to have friends at the cabin.

We spent a lot of time with Papa, but we missed MorMor. She was on call - ready to watch Addy and Elsa when their new baby brother or sister arrives. We're still waiting....and excited to meet our new cousin.

It's a Small World

We recently discovered that a Gus' friend Lydia from preschool is a neighbor both in Minneapolis (we knew that part) and at the cabin. We are 3 blocks apart at home and only 3 houses apart when we are up north! CRAZY!

I've been heading to the cabin since I was a little girl and so has Lydia's mom, Laura. We had fun hanging out at the beach on Sunday with their family. The boys were also playing in the sand with Lydia's brother, Benji. They'll be up north a lot this summer, so we hope to hang out more when we are up there.

i heart faces - week #20

The theme for this week at "i heart faces" is silhouettes. It took me quite a few tries to find the right situation to achieve the look I wanted. Luckily, we were at my parent's cabin this weekend and the lake is a great location for this theme. My little guy loves practicing his casting at the end of the dock (no fish this time around)!

Charlie and Gus

Charlie and Gus have been great buddies since they were two years old. Charlie lives just down the block and he and Gus do almost everything together. They both love to play trains, dig in dirt, build with Legos, run, play t-ball and be silly little guys! They have so much fun together.

Today, Charlie turned 5 years old. It seems like a major birthday to me, so I wanted to remember all of the good times with Charile and say "HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CHARLIE!"

Last day of Bible class

It is May and our weekly events are starting to end. Gus and Johan had a great time in their BSF (Bible Study Fellowship) classes this year. Their teachers were amazing women who volunteer to serve in this program. The boys studied the life of Moses this year and learned a lot. While the kids are in class, I study the same lesson with a group of wonderful women. Anja is at home with Mor Mor on Tuesday mornings (thanks, MorMor!!).

i heart faces KIDS - week 18

Here is my entry for "i heart faces." The theme this week is laughter! Anja was laughing and clapping on our last visit to the cabin. I love how her little baby teeth show when she is laughing.

Egg Flow

Gus made up a song about Johan and his love for eggs, done in Gus-speak-style grammar. We've been singing it ever since - if you have 52 seconds to spare, you will too...

Way to stand, Anja!

Anja is a really good sitter at 9.5 months and she is content to do just that! Kip stood her up in her crib the other day and she was very excited about her new accomplishment. Of course, she had to get down somehow. See the short video and listen to Gus giggle!

Anja's Friends

Anja headed up to the cabin with her friends, Ben and Ruby (Tami and Mo -- moms of Ben and Ruby -- came along too!!). We enjoyed good food, being outside, playing games and having a picnic. The babies were very well behaved and slept great!
