Anja - 9 month stats!!

Anja is now 9 months old! She has been enjoying spending time outside in the warmer weather and looks so cute in this new hat (a gift from the Hokanson family)!!

Length: 28 inches (60th percentile)

Two well spent dollars

My favorite season has begun -- garage sale season. The kids tagged along to an early garage sale on Saturday morning (Kip was gone). Gus spotted a "Bob the Builder" sheet set for two dollars, so we made a big purchase. They have been a big hit. We could hear Gus sitting in his top bunk saying "AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME." He has also thanked me numerous times for his new sheets. Johan gets to use my sheets from when I was a kid (retro, right??). They are perfect for him since they are of the Peanuts gang and he is our little Linus (blue blanket and thumb sucker). Here are the boys singing about Bob and cozy in their "new" sheets.

i heart faces - week #15

The theme for this week's contest is self-portrait. No tripods allowed and you must be holding the camera, so this photo was taken by me. My goal was to share what is important to me and reveal some of my personality. My family and friends are incredibly valuable to me and they have shaped the person that I am today. The background for my photo is a picture collage of these folks that hangs on our kitchen wall. If you know me, look closely -- you might see yourself in the background!! :) I had to smile because life is good and I have a lot of joy in my life. I hope this photo captures a little bit of ME!

i heart faces KIDS - week #15

I am so excited. I won 8th place for this photo on i heart faces. The theme for this week's contest is self-portrait. No tripods allowed and you must be holding the camera, so this photo was taken by me. I wanted to capture myself trying to savor each moment with my precious little one. She is our third (and last) baby and it all just changes so quickly that first year.

Easter

We had a great time celebrating Easter today with our family. We had a fun Easter egg hunt for the kids. Here are a few pictures from the fun day! It was finally warm enough to enjoy the outdoors.

Spring Break - REALLY?? SNOW??

We decided to go north for the weekend - it's spring break! We were welcomed by 4 inches of crunchy snow (which Johan eats) and temperatures barely above freezing (as highs!). We still had a great time relaxing and hanging out as a family. I enjoyed experimenting and taking pictures with my new camera lens. My favorite of Anja is pictured above.

It's Opening Day - GO TWINS!

We headed down to the Metrodome this morning for free food. Yeah, hot dogs for breakfast aren't my favorite, but oh well! Anja stayed warm under a bunch of hot dogs. It was only 30 degrees and we didn't wear warm clothes, so it was a quick trip. The boys are going to watch "The Sandlot" to celebrate baseball today.

Here is my kid's entry for "I heart faces." This week's contest theme is "My friend and I." Even though Anja is only 8 months old, Gus and Anja are already great friends. It is wonderful to watch their relationship develop.
