A Fun Halloween Party!

We headed to Hokanson's place today for a very fun Halloween party with lots of friends! Jenny had worked very hard to have creative activities for the kids: painting pumpkins, acorn guessing game, decorating cookies, broomstick game, owl craft and lots of Halloween books to read. The kids were busy. Here is a picture of all twelve kiddos in costume!

A special thanks to everyone who helped take care of my kids while I had a work meeting. I had a last minute babysitting need and everyone was so willing to help out. I am blessed with supportive friends. THANKS!

i heart faces - week 42: Halloween Dress-Up

Well, I was going to use the frog costume that was hanging in the closet from when my boys were smaller, but I found a garage sale costume and couldn't resist. Here is my little flower!

A Birthday Party

My niece turned 4 and we had a great time at her party. It is always fun when the Krasean cousins get together. We are thankful to have such a wonderful family and it is great that the cousins love to be together.

New HAIR!

It was time for me to ditch the long hair. Since I had a 10-inch ponytail, I decided to donate it to Locks of Love. I also loved going to the Juut New Artists Academy. It's a nice place to get your hair chopped and the prices are cheaper! Yay! So, here I am. I think it worked out that the after picture is just a better one in general. I should have tried to look REALLY pathetic in the first one!! :)

i heart faces - week 40: Pink

The theme at "i heart faces" this week is pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I don't think about it much, but before I had children I found a lump in my breast. The doctors decided to remove it and it was benign. I know not everyone receives happy news after having the same procedure and I am sorry for that. I also know that early detection is so important in the fight against breast cancer.

I have two sons, but now I also have a sweet, little girl who will someday need to know about breast cancer and how early prevention can be life-saving.

Anja at the cabin

Anja and I headed to the cabin this past weekend with Papa. We had a great time hanging out at the cabin on a mostly rainy weekend. I still managed to get a few pictures in the fall colors. Anja walked all over the place and also had a good time climbing on her chair (as you can see it was not always very safe climbing). Anja worked on other tricks this weekend as well. When Papa winks at her, she squints and blinks both eyes in an attempt to wink. She also now makes a little lip smacking sound with each kiss. So sweet. On our last morning, the rain stopped and Anja got her first tractor ride with Papa.

Apple Orchard with friends

We headed to Minnetonka Orchard with my friends, Mary and Kristen, and their boys, Luke and Matthew. We had a great time playing on the "train," jumping in hay, looking at pumpkins, riding the hay wagon, and of course, picking apples! It was a cool, but beautiful fall day.

i heart faces - week 40: EXCITED!!

When I saw this theme, I immediately thought of my daughter's 1st birthday. I took a bunch of photos and she was in a great mood. She likes to "get hyper" and it is pretty funny.

Check out all of the other EXCITING photos at http://iheartfaces.blogspot.com/

Gus lost a tooth!

We've entered the big kid world of losing teeth - well, one tooth for now! Gus has had a wiggly tooth for over a month now. The past few days it had been getting looser. Kip vigorously brushed Gus' teeth last night and the tooth fell out. Gus didn't realize it at first, but he did wonder why he was spitting red!! Luckily, Kip found the tooth in the sink and the tooth fairy was able to make his first appearance. (According to Gus, girls have girl tooth fairies and boys have boy tooth fairies.)

The [not so] final game in the Metrodome

The five of us geared up and headed down to the Metrodome for the "last" Twins game in the Metrodome. The Twins played the Royals and the final score was 13-4. We had general admission tickets and it was packed when we arrived, so we decided to sit in Kip's World Series seats from 1991 (3 rows from the roof in deep center). It was loud, so the boys wore ear plugs, which wasn't enough for Johan who covered his ears for most of the game. Anja liked to distract the people sitting around us with her coy smiles and waves. Gus pretty much watched and followed what was going on. I asked him at one point what had happened and he told me that "Span stole 2nd base." The kid knows the Twins. Here we are singing "Take me out to the ball game" for the almost last time at the Metrodome. Kip and the boys are going to get one more chance on Tuesday. Go Twins!
