Forest History Center

We spent a week at the cabin and we had many adventures. We went with MorMor and Papa to the Forest History Center near Grand Rapids. It was fun to sit in the trucks and visit the old logging camp.

We learned that in the year 1900 there were so many trees cut down in MN that you could have built a nine foot wide path all of the way around the equator! Next year we want to visit the "LOST 40." Forty acres of land that was not logged because the surveyors missed it -- our lucky mistake.

Crazy to Camp??

We headed to Taylors Falls for our first ever family camping trip. We enjoyed views on the St. Croix, ice cream cones, a campfire, and being silly in the tent. It took a lot of work to get there, but it was worth it. Gus and Johan are ready to try it again....are we??

New Cousin

Meet our new cousin, Elsa!

Gus and Johan are excited to share that they have a new cousin! Her name is Elsa Joy Swanson and she was born on Tuesday, July 17 (sister of Addy Swanson). She is such a sweet, little baby and we love her so much!

Welcome, Elsa!

Joe Krasean

Kip's cousin, Joe Krasean, stopped by our house to hang out one recent afternoon. It was fun to catch up with him and hear about life in New Mexico. We're hoping he moves back to the Twin Cities at some point. Gus and Johan enjoyed having him around.

4th of July

Gus and Johan had a great time in Forest Lake at the parade. Both cousins, Addy and Ellie, were there to help celebrate. Johan had a great time playing on the beach at Forest Lake Later in the day. The fireworks were too loud for Gus this year and they did not disturb Johan's sleep at all....maybe next year.
